We recommend that you don’t try any new procedures such as; Facials, Peels, Body Treatments, Waxing, and Microdermabrasion just before your wedding date. You never know how your skin will react, so in return we recommend starting your skin care at least 6 months prior to your wedding. That way you won’t have to conceal imperfections, but glow with skin perfection!
When you come in for a facial, the Esthetician can decide on a pre-wedding skin care schedule. It will const is of a Bioelements cleanser, an exfoliant, toner, moisturizer, and a sunscreen.
Make sure to use a good sun block religiously before your wedding date. You don’t want to be sunburned, have peeling skin, or tan lines in your wedding photos. A sun block recommended is a SPF 30.
Try to avoid alcohol which leads to skin puffiness; smoking leaves skin dull and grayish and soda (including diet) is the single most important thing to refrain from.
Fragrance:
Apply your fragrance in layers. Start with a body wash when you bathe or shower. Follow with a body oil, lotion, or powder. Last, spritz on your perfume on the pulse points; which are located on the side of your neck, wrist, behind the knee, top of your foot, and on the ankle bones.
Brides should choose fragrances that make them feel feminine and pretty.
Heavy fragrances should be avoided; lighter perfumes tend to have less alcohol, and less likely to stain the dress.
Bring perfume and deodorant to touch up after all your dancing.
Waxing:
Wouldn’t it be nice not to shave on your wedding and honeymoon? Then you might want to consider a professional esthetician with all your hair removal needs. Results vary, but can last up to 3 weeks, if not longer, each time you continue the hair removal. 6 months before your wedding is recommended to evaluate the skin’s propensity for redness, rashes, ingrown hairs, as well as recovery time and the duration of the effect.
2 to 3 weeks of growth is suggested before any professional hair removal services.
Protect just waxed skin with a sunscreen.
To prevent ingrown hairs exfoliate daily with a natural Bioelements Cactus Cloth. You can use Bioelements salicylic acid products, the acid dissolves the dead skin cells (also helps clear clogged pores on your face). If you are allergic to aspirin, your Esthetician will recommend an alternative.
Brows are the frame to our face. To prepare for timeless wedding photos start scheduling your professional brow shaping appointments to achieve the best brow shape for your face.
Make-up:
Le Balise Spa uses Mineral Makeup. It will not clog your pores; it’s not tested on animals, and composed of inert minerals that cannot support bacteria. Even if you have acne or rosacea it has complete coverage. Plus it has an SPF to add more coverage.
Use lipstick in a shade or two darker than you normally would wear, or else it will barely show in your black and white photos.
Purchase touch up make-up to reapply. After all you may get teary-eyed or kiss so many times that your lip color vanishes.
Put on your moisturizer before you have your makeup done.
Any pimples and blemishes that forms, do not pick or squeeze at it. Your Esthetician at Le Balise Spa can help diminish and camouflage the area, when your event makeup is applied.
Many brides decide upon one lipstick and nail color that complements all the bridesmaids. Different shades of lipstick on everyone can be distracting in the wedding photographs.
If you happen to wake-up with puffy eyes, place cold tea bags or slices of cucumbers on them.
We recommend that you wear your “practice” make up to the Bridal Shower or Bachelorette Party.
Don’t be afraid to reject certain colors, this is your day!
Manicures & Pedicures:
You will spend months trying to find the right dress, makeup, and hairstyle, but don’t forget that your hands will garner plenty of wedding-day attention and that your feet should look sandal-perfect until the last day of the honeymoon.
Try to begin your hand-and-foot-care regimen at least 6 months before the wedding. Start by looking for a nail technician at Le Balise Spa. Visit the same person every other week for manicures and monthly for pedicures.
A little extra time at home each day will yield the greatest results. If you are spending 15 minutes a week on your nails now, spend 10 minutes a day pre-wedding.
After you exfoliate, make sure to moisturize your skin. Once a week, apply oil or balm to your hands and feet and cover them in plastic wrap, or wrap them in warm, wet towels to trap moisture in.
To care for cuticles, simply push them back with your fingernails after showering. Any kind of trimming should only be done by a nail technician at Le Balise Spa.
Keep in mind that a manicure service takes about 30 minutes and a pedicure service takes 60 minutes; it is wise to allow another 15 minutes for the polish to dry.
Always wear sandals for a pedicure, even if it is cold outside, bring a pair to wear out the door.
Even after your nails are dry, let others do your dirty work. Do not wash dishes, and ask a bridesmaid or relative to help you with snaps, buttons, zippers, hair clips, or bands, which can chip your polish.
The consensus for wedding-day fingernails is pale shades. The contrast between a white dress and dark fingernail polish may be too strong. French polish looks great with a wedding dress. (pink nail bed with white tips).
The day or two before your wedding is generally the best time to have a manicure and pedicure. Not only will your nails have plenty of time to dry and look fresh for the following day, but your nails will also look nice for the rehearsal dinner.
Make sure to purchase the nail color applied to your nails as well as your bridesmaid’s nails for any emergency touch ups.
Make sure to have clear nail polish for any pantyhose tears.
